Packaging (Crating)

Mulitple door and/or sidelite slabs may be stacked, pallet style, edge and corner protected on a wooden pallet. Pallets may contain 15-25 doors.

Prehung entry systems can either be assembled for pick up at our plant or crated for delivery by common carrier. The crating includes securing the frame system, construction door(s) if any, door slabs on edge on a pallet with wood supporting legs. A shrink wrap covering is then applied to the whole package. Receiving inspection is easily accomplished by making a slit in the shrink wrap and looking inside for “concealed damage” before signing for the shipment.

Pre and post crating pictures are taken and prints placed in an envelope on the outside of the package to alert your receiving department of the pre-shipping condition of all components. Copies of these pictures are placed in the order file at BGD for future reference in case of carrier disputes.

Construction Cross Sections

On double door entries we use a "bumper type" threshold that eliminates the door sweeps and the gap below the T-astrigal thereby giving a much tighter fit. It also incorporates a "weep" system to carry off water that might accumulate on the sill.This threshold is not adjustable! It is not necessary to have adjustment because the Q-Lon weatherstripping built into the threshold allows for the same door movement that an adjustable would.
